Merry & Bright – Holiday Card

Merry & Bright was a fun passion project I created during the university Christmas break after my first year. I wanted to design and illustrate a holiday card that felt soft, feminine, and a little different from the typical red-and-green Christmas aesthetic.

I chose a pastel colour palette, focusing on pinks and greens, to create a stylised, girly feel that still captured the festive spirit without being overly traditional.

Like many of my projects, it began with a rough pencil sketch to plan out the composition and imagery. From there, I brought the illustration into Adobe Illustrator to refine the linework and colour, and then finalised the layout using Adobe InDesign.

This wasn’t a deep conceptual piece just a lighthearted, creative project made for friends and family, and a great opportunity to experiment with the Adobe suite while I was still learning the tools.
